Barry County Relatives of Mrs. Maude Frossard (Fossard), who was Murdered at Little Rock Bring Body Back
Text Mrs. Abe Leonard of Purdy, mother, Mrs. F.E. Roller of Wheaton and Mrs. Claude Roller of Seligman, sister of Mrs. Maud Frossard (Fossard) went to Ft. Smith the first of last week upon hearing of Mrs. Frossard’s (Fossard) tragic death, and brought her body back to her old home for burial. It was laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie cemetery Saturday May 23.

Mrs. Frossard (Fossard) was 36 years old and is survived by husband and four small children, ranging in age from 2 to 11 years.

Her mutilated and almost lifeless body was found under a railroad trestle less than a mile from her home about three miles southwest of Little Rock, Ark., Sunday, May 17. She disappeared on the evening before after starting with wagon and team to bring her husband home from work. Her husband caught a ride home in a car. Later his team appeared without his wife He notified the officers and they search for the body began.

When found Mrs. Frossard (Fossard) was in an unconscious condition and her clothing torn. How she met her death is still a mystery. She did not regain consciousness before her death. It is reported that this was the third death of a similar nature occurring in that locality within the last year or two.

Mrs. Frossard (Fossard) was Miss Maude Etchason. Her parents once lived near Seligman and at Washburn.
