Text | Abstract - Morris E. Forgey, 69, of Wheaton passed away Thursday, June 14, at St. John’s Regional Health Center, Springfield. He was born Jan. 23, 1932, at Seligman, the son of E. L. and Winnie Bowman Forgey. He was united in marriage to Norma McTeer and he is survived by two sons; one brother, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Forgey received his education in Seligman, Cassville and graduated from Wheaton High School. He lived most of this life in Wheaton and was a self-employed truck driver, hauling milk. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Ridgeley Baptist Church. He was saved in Wheaton in 1949. Mr. Forgey was serving on the Wheaton City Council and was a very active supporter of the summer and school Athletic Departments. He was a life-member of V. F. W in Monett. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday, June 17, at Ridgeley Baptist Church, under the direction of McQueen funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield.
