| Text | Earnest Ferguson, 90, a lifetime resident of Purdy, died at 10 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2003, at Monett Health Care Center in Monett following a short illness. He was born on March 7, 1913, in Rocky Comfort, and was a son of the late Fred and Celia Stewart Ferguson.Mr. Ferguson was a dairy and beef farmer, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy. He married Cleta Gipson on July 14, 1934, in Purdy. Additional survivors include: two daughters, two brothers, one sister, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Derald Ferguson. Services will be held on Monday, November 10, at 2 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett, with Rev. Tony Martin and Rev. Charles Leonard officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield under the direction of Bennett-Wormington. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Purdy in care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home. |
