Text | Fred Farmer, age 85, of Purdy, died at 10:05 p.m. April 19 at McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage following a brief illness. Mr. Farmer was born February 8, 1914, in Purdy, and was a son of William and Magie (Weidner) Farmer. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stones Prairie. He married Bertha Miller on March 13, 1945, in Columbus, Kansas, and she preceded him in death February 20, 1978, and he married Faye Edwards on November 13, 1982, in Purdy. Survivors include one daughter, two brothers, and two step-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, April 22, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stone's Prairie with Rev. E. W. Wolf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
