Text #1. Earl A. Farmer, age 81, of Purdy, died August 4 at VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mr. Farmer was a retired mechanic and an Army veteran.

Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, August 8, at the Church of Christ Latter-Day Saints in Monett. Burial with military honors will be in Arnhart Cemetery near Purdy under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 7, at the funeral home.



#2. Earl A. Farmer, age 81, of Purdy, died August 4 at the V. A. Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Mr. Farmer was born February 20, 1919, in Purdy, and was a son of William and Maggie (Widner) Farmer. He was a 1938 graduate of Purdy High School and a lifelong Purdy resident. He was a mechanic for 30 years and also farmed. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Wheaton VFW Post 5219, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He married Mary Alice Stapleton on June 21, 1966, and she preceded him in death May 25, 1994.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Services were 10 a.m. yesterday, August 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Monett. Burial was in Arnhart Cemetery near Purdy under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Military rites were conducted by Hobbs-Anderson Post 91 Monett American Legion and personnel from Fort Leonard Wood.
