| Text | Opal M. Farmer, 90, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in St. John's Hospital, Cassville. She was born June 30, 1918, in Purdy, the daughter of James and Mary (Mitchell) Patton. On Jan. 11, 1958, at Granby, she was united in marriage to Alvin Farmer, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Orville James Farmer on Dec. 9, 1960; three brothers; and two sisters. She grew up and received her education at Purdy. She and Alvin spent their entire married life at Granby. After the death of Alvin, she moved back to Purdy, remaining there until moving to Cassville about six years ago. She was a member of Purdy First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Sparks Cemetery, Butterfield. |
