Text | Mrs. J. H. Farley, died at her home in this city at about 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. She had been afflicted with cancer since the fist of January, which disease, in spite of the very best attention, was the cause of her demise.
Mrs. Farley was born near Rocky Comfort, MO, December 4, 1856. Her maiden name was Davison. In 1881 she was married to J. H. Farley, who survives her. Shortly after their marriage they came to Pettis County, locating in the Lookout neighborhood, near Beaman, where they resided until about fourteen years ago, when they removed to a farm northeast of this city, later moving to town. Mrs. Farley is survived by five sisters and three brothers, as follows: Mrs. Julia R. Duncan, of Pullman, Wash.; Mrs. Mary A. Cole, of Tekoa; Mrs. Lammerson, Mrs. Jud. Lammerson and Mrs. Alice Corn of Rocky Comfort; J. F. and Alvary Davison, of Newtonia, and Sheridan Davison, of Rocky Comfort. Mrs. Farley had been a member of the Baptist church for forty-six years and she was a faithful servant of the Lord. She took an active part in the work of the church and rarely missed a service. She was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. The remains were taken to Rocky Comfort Tuesday morning, accompanied by the grief-stricken husband. |
