Obit For Samuel E. Erwin

Text S. E. Erwin was born in East Tenn., June 11, 1849. Died at his home near Exeter, Mo., Oct 27, 1936, at the age of Eighty-seven years, five months, and sixteen days. He was the son of the late William S. and Betsy Ann Erwin.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Rogers, 1877. To this union three children were born, Lilburn, Gilbert and Gertie. His wife passed away April 30, 1885.

Later, he was united in marriage to Missouri Logan 1888. To this union one child was born, W. M. Erwin.

After the death of his second wife, he was united in marriage to Bartie Roach in 1891. To this union two children were born, Noah B. Erwin and Mrs. Nellie Luckey.

While never uniting with any church, he expressed his hope in the Lord. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Lillburn, Monroe and Noah, and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Lucky, one brother W. H. Erwin of Powell, Mo., two sisters Tilday of Calif., and Mrs. Nannie Weatherly of Exeter, Mo., and nine grand children and many other relatives and host of friends.

Mr. Erwin was a man of honest character, a good neighbor and was a held in high esteem by his many friends. Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 29, 1936, by Chas Vanzandt. Burial in True Love Cemetery under the direction of the Koon Funeral Service.
