Text | Passed into rest, Alice Wynne Ervin, at the family home in Exeter, Thursday, September 1, 1927. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.C. Casson at the Methodist church and burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Friday September 2, 1927. Alice Wynne was born March 20, 1848 at Holly Spring, Miss., a daughter of Joel E and Martha Ann Wynne. She was married to George W. Ervin in Dallas, Tex., April 14, 1875. Her husband preceded her in death on May 21, 1900. She is survived by five children, Mrs. H.P. Stith of Panco City, Okla., Mrs. W. P. Searcy and Mrs. Harve Doyle, of Exeter, Wynne Ervin, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Grover Baker, of Rogers, Ark. One sister, Miss Sallie Wynne, of Lubbock, Texas, all survives her. Mrs. Ervin was a loyal, devoted member of the Methodist church and will be sadly missed from this place she had so faithfully filled during her thirty-six years residence here, but the influence of her daily life and her Christian teaching will live again in the lives of those with whom she labored. The regard in which she was held is attested by the profusion of beautiful floral offering and by the host of sorrowing, sympathizing friends who attended the funeral. "Blessed are the death who die in the Lord." A Friend |
