Text | Omah Bell England, 96, of Monett, died at 2 a.m. yesterday, February 7, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Mrs. England was born August 31, 1905, in Purdy, the daughter of William and Ada Bell (Strother) Higgs. She was a lifelong resident of the Monett and Purdy areas, a homemaker, and a Baptist. She married Morris Edward England on December 1, 1923, in Purdy, and he preceded her in death July 5, 1972. Survivors include three daughters, two sisters, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Eddie England; one daughter, Velma Martin; and two brothers, Earl Higgs and Bryan Higgs. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, February 9, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Butterfield with Rev. David Troublefield officiating under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, February 8, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice or Loaves and Fishes. |
