Headline | AN EXCELLENT YOUNG MAN DIES Lee Ellston Succumbs to Pneumonia Nov. 4th |
Text | With a heavy heart we would drop a tear to the memory of Lee Elliston of Exeter. His death has brought the bitter cup of sorrow to the lips of his relatives and many friends. His was a heart of gold. He was one of natures noblemen in its truest sense -- generous and manly. His was a soul of honor, and his friends and friendships were sacred to him. It is sad at any time to watch the life of a splendid young man ebb away, as the drifting tide, into the great ocean of eternity. Lee Ellston of Exeter, died at that place, Nov. 4, 1918, of influenza and pneumonia at 2:50 p.m., aged 26 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. N. Ellston of Exeter, and was born June 30, 1892, at Exeter. He was married June 6, 1904, to Miss Mable Brattin of that place, who with two little daughters Loraine and Ruth survive him. The parents and his brother John also survive him. Rev. E. W. Love of Joplin, conducted the funeral services at Maplewood Cemetery, Wednesday, Nov. 6, 1918, where a large number of relatives and sympathizing friends, assembled to pay the last tribute of respect and love to the deceased.
