| Text | A. D. Ellis committed suicide, was a citizen of Ozark Township, died Saturday July 27, by jumping in a cistern and drowning himself. Burial was in the Wise (Osa Cemetery) Cemetery. He was 63 years, 3 months and 13 days old. Hiram Thomas, a son-in-law of the late A. D. Ellis and Edward Ellis of Aurora, a son of the deceased were in this city, Monday, probating the will of Mr. Ellis, in which, the two above named were appointed executors. Born Apr. 14, 1844, McMinn Co., TN Died July 27, 1907 Cause of death listed as "drowned, suicide" in the King Funeral Home Records. He was the son of Ezekiel Ellis and Margaret Ann Mackey. He first married Martha C. Thompson on Sept. 7, 1868 in Greene Co., MO. He second married Martha J. (Lee) Pharris on Aug. 5, 1888 in Lawrence Co., MO. He third married Sarah Frances (Lemaster) Ellis on Dec. 24, 1896 in Stone Co., MO. She was the widow of Perry A. Ellis. |
