Obit 2 July 9, 1914, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO Union Valley News: Mrs. Dan Eden died Saturday morning and interment was made Sunday at Maplewood cemetery at Exeter. Research Note: According to the census, Mary Jane Edens, born Feb 1865, was the daughter of Daniel J. Eden and his wife Ellen. Researchers report Ellen as Louise Ellen Lyons. Beverly Painter Matthews added this research note: My GGG grandmother, Lavica (not Louise) Ellen (Lyons) Edens. Husband, Daniel S. Edens deceased in Newton County, Missouri, April 17, 1918. His death certificate reads that he died of small pox and that he was buried in the Elm Springs Cemetery on April 17, 1918. I have his death certificate. Some people think his name was David S. Edens because that is what his death certificate reads. But his name was Daniel S. Edens. My father, John Lowell Painter, knew he died of small pox and was buried in the Elm Springs Cemetery. John Lowell "Buster" Painter was abt 7 years of age when his GG grandfather passed away. |
