| Text | Paul Eckman, age 79, of Monett, died January 25, 2000, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett following a long illness. He was born April 11, 1920, in Monett, and was a son of George and Chloe (Montgomery) Eckman. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict and retired as a major from the Army. He married Laura Louise Wunder on March 23, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas, and she preceded him in death October 2, 1999. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lucy Scott, on August 9, 1986; and one great grandson, Derek Johnson.
