Obit For Galen Ray Easley

Text Galen Ray Easley, 77, of Wheaton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in his home.

He was born July 30, 1935, in Cassville, the son of Henry and Marzell (Bennett) Easley. On Feb. 24, 1978, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Vicki England, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Kimblee Bradshaw and her husband, Tom, of Bedford, Texas, and Shannon Linder and her husband, Doug, of Newtonia; one brother, Gary Easley and his wife, Janice, of Claremore, Okla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Galen Ray Easley.

He grew up and received his education in Cassville, where he graduated from high school. For a few years, he resided in Kansas City and also Bixby, Okla. He was a police officer in Wheaton for a while and safety director for the Bullet Truck at Butterfield. During Jim Hopkins time as sheriff, he served under him as deputy sheriff of Barry County. He then worked for the City of Cassville as a police officer. He attended Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert and Pastor Scott Mitchell conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
