Text | Death has clamed another old time citizen of this county, in the person of Mat. Durham, who died at his home in Washburn, Feb. 8th, 1907, age 57 years of a complication troubles, with his kidneys and rheumatism.
He was a son of the late James M. and Margaret (Hubbert) Durham, highly respected citizens of this county, during life, and was born March 30th 1850,on Washburn Prairie, where he lived all his life. He left a wife, two sons three sisters and three brothers to mourn hid death. For many years he had been a member of the C.P. church and Rev. E.W. Love conducted funeral services at the Truelove church. Sunday afternoon, amide very large number of relatives, friends and neighbors. He was also a member of the I. O. O. F. Society and was laid to rest with their honors. Many years ago he was assessor of Barry county and made a very good citizen and never harmed anybody, besides he had the respect and confidence of all.
