| Text | Mrs. Tranquilla Dummit, wife of H. C. Dummit, was born in Tennessee, December 1, 1841, and died at her home on Kings Prairie at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 1919. She had been in failing health for the past few months and on Christmas eve took ill with pneumonia which resulted in her death. Mrs. Dummit had lived on Kings Prairie for many years and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. She lived on the adjoining farm of her twin sister, Mrs. Fount Jackson, who is critically ill.
All her children were at her bedside when she passed away except one son, J. D. Dummit, of Gooding, Idaho. Other children who are left to mourn her death are Mrs. C.C. Drake, C.A. Dummit, F. R. Dummit, Robert Dummit, of Monett, and Mrs. Sadie Simms, of Springfield. Funeral services were held at Kings Prairie Union church at 2:30 p.m., December 29, Rev. J. F. King officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery. |
