Text | Funeral rites for Mrs. C. A. Dummit of Springfield, who died Tuesday night, June 2, were held at New Liberty Methodist Protestant church in Kings Prairie township at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 4. The services were conducted by Rev. E. R. Stribling who took as his text a part of Revelation 14:13, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord henceforth: yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." Music was furnished by the New Liberty choir. Special numbers sung were " Where We'll Never Grow Old", by Rev. and Mrs. Sherman Erickson, and "She Has Gone", by Rev. and Mrs. Sherman Erickson, Rev. Albion Erickson and W. H. Wormington.
Burial was made in the Kings Prairie cemetery under the direction of Callaway funeral directors. Pall bearers were Ernest Jackson, Ira Jackson, Frank Jackson, Martin Peterson, Joe Beymer and Jake Carter. Flower bearers were Mrs. Ernest Jackson, Mrs. Ray Jackson, Mrs. Ira Jackson, Mrs. Paul McCarmack, Mrs. Pete Cramer and Mrs. Jake Carter. There was a large attendance at the funeral including a number of friends from Springfield. |
