| Headline | Hiram C. Drake, Lifelong Area Resident, Dies |
| Text | Hiram C. Drake, 76, of Route 1, Monett, a lifetime Barry County resident, died at 9:06 p.m. yesterday in the Aurora Community Hospital. Mr. Drake was born December 3, 1905, in Barry County and was a farmer before retiring in 1965. He was a member of the New Liberty Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. James Callan, Mrs. Vedas Davis, and Mrs. James Thomas, all of Monett; one son, Gaylord (Sonny) Drake of Monett; two brothers, Herbert Drake and Fleman Drake, both of Monett; one sister; Mrs. Leona Wormington of Monett; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Buchanan Chapel in Monett. Burial will be in the Kings Prairie Cemetery under the direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Heart Fund. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
