| Text | Thomas Lafayette Doty, son of Ambrose and Ann Doty was born in Barry County, Missouri near Jolly, April 28, 1861. He departed this life Saturday Saturday afternoon, July 11 at 3:45 at his home near Stark City, Mo., at the age of 95 years, 2 months and 16 days. He spent his entire life in Barry and Newton counties, moving to near Stark City in 1908 where he resided until his passing.
Earlier in life he was converted and united with the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Doty, four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Raulston and Mrs. Juanita Watts of Stark City, Mo., Mrs. Myra Crock of McKenney, Texas and Mrs. Maudie Jarnagin of Neosho, Mo., three sons, William E. Doty of Weston, Ore., Charley Doty of Joplin, Mo., and Jeff Doty of St. Joseph, Mo., 36 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one brother Jess Doty of Butler, Mo. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Stark City Methodist Church by Rev. Don Shepherd and burial was in the Dice cemetery near Fairview under direction of Pogue Funeral Home. |
