| Text | Herbert Austin Dodson, 94, of Purdy, Mo., passed away at 2:07 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at St. John's Hospital-Aurora. He was born August 28, 1912, in Purdy, Mo., the son of the late Fletcher and Amy (Bennett) Dodson.
Herbert was a farmer and also retired from Jumping-Jacks Shoes. He was a founding member of Longview Methodist Protestant Church near Purdy. Herbert married Ruby Ann Keeling on January 1, 1933, in Butterfield, Mo. She preceded him in death in September of 1999. He is survived by one daughter, of Purdy, Mo.; two sons, of Purdy, Mo., five sisters, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Bill Dodson. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilkerson and Rev. O. V. Dodson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Mo. Visitation will be Sunday, April 22, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral home, Monett. |
