Text | Burl D. Dodd, 73, of Monett, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, in his home.
He was born April 18, 1937, in Prue, Okla., the son of Dea and Mae (Garrison) Dodd, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary. On Sept. 12, 2002, in Bentonville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Wilma Loraine Robbins. Survivors include: his wife, Wilma Dodd, of the home; four sons, Dusty Dodd and his wife, Vicki, of Pineville, Billy Dodd, of Pineville, Wesley Bricker and his wife, Edna, of Monett, and Jimmy Humbard and his wife, Brett, of Savannah, Ga.; one daughter, Susan Dodd. of Wellton, Ariz.; one brother, Herman Dodd, of Sand Springs, Okla.; three sisters, Alice Johnson, of Tulsa, Okla., Joyce "LaVon" Widener, of Sand Springs, Okla., and Verna Mae Wenner, of Seminole, Okla.; and eight grandchildren. He started elementary school at Kennett, continued on in Oklahoma and finished in Marshall, Ark. He was a cattle farmer and worked for a family who owned show cattle. He also drove a school bus and worked in maintenance for Tyson's before he retired. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Barron Cemetery, Vaughn, Ark. |
