Headline MRS. DIXON PASSES AWAY
Text Word has been recieved by Mrs. H. Jacobs Sr., that her mother, Mrs. Mary Ellen Dixon, 72, has passed away at her home in Lindon, Wash, on Sunday, March 9th.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1935.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Purdy, Missouri in 1869, was married to J. S. Dixon in 1886, coming to the Shellbrook district in 1904, where they farmed two miles east of Shellbrook. They retired to Lindon, Wash., in 1926.

She leaves to mourn 4 sons Hilliard, Clarence, and Clyde of Washington, and Dennis of Spiritwood and 4 daughters, Mrs. J. Edwards of Washington, Mrs E. Ambrose of B.C., Mrs H. Jacobs and Mrs. A. McAteer both of Shellbrook.

Research Note: The daughters mentioned were Alice Dixon that married Herbert Jacobs, Minnie Elizabet Dixon that married Alex McAteer,Ethel Hester Dixon that married Earl Mitchell Ambrose, Katie Nora Dixon that married James Edwards.

There also was a daughter, May Dixon that married a Walter Dickinson. Mary was predeceased by two sons, Frederick and John Dixon.

Mary and her husband and family moved to the Indian Territory sometime after 1891 and before 1893 given the birthplaces of their children. Mary and Samuel James Dixon were married in Barry County in 1885 not 1886.
