Obit For Stella Frances (Trent) DeCocq
Headline Dies Near Purdy
Text PURDY, Mo., Dec. 14 --- Mrs. Stella B. DeCocq, 77 years old, a resident of the Corsicana community the last 43 years, died at 3 o’clock Wednesday morning at her home near Purdy. Although she had been in ill health for a year, the death was unexpected because of recent improvement in her health. She was a member of the Holiness church.

Survivors include a son, Lacy Decoq, or rural Purdy; three daughters, Mrs. Fay Harrell and Mrs. Tressia Leonard of Purdy and Mrs. Eunice Cole of granby; three step-children, Louie and Henry Decoq of near Wheaton and Mrs. Emma Whipple of Midland City, Mo.

The body was received by the McQueen funeral home of Wheaton and will lie in state there until this afternoon when it will be removed to the home near Purdy. It will remain there until just before the funeral hour.

The funeral will be at 2 o’clock Friday in the Culver chapel in Cassville. Burial will be in Maddy cemetery near Purdy.

Research Note from Don Warner: There is a couple of errors in the Obit for Stella Decocq. Her middle initial is F not B and her sons name is Lafay not Lacy. Stella F "Trent" Decocq was the wife of Leopold Joseph Decocq. This can be confirmed by the tombstone in Maddy Cemetery and by family information. I have the same obit as Wilma posted and it has the same incorrect information as to spelling and the initial.
