| Text | Jessie P. DeBross, 82, Monett, who died at 12:19 p.m. Friday, January 1, 1988, at Aurora Community Hospital after a long illness, were at 10 a.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home. Rev. Hubert Lines officiated.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery.
Mrs. DeBross was born March 2, 1905, at Exeter, and was a longtime resident of the area. She was a graduate of Exeter high school, Monett Junior College and Springfield Teachers College. She was a school teacher at Exeter for several years. She and her husband owned and operated Round House Cafe and Southside Market for several years. She was a member of the Exeter Christian Church. She married John Sherman DeBross on May 15, 1936, in Monett. He died January 20, 1968. Survivors include a son, John Carl DeBross, Springfield; a brother, Marve Stephens, Exeter; and three sisters, Bonnie Bradford, Downey, California, Donna Fredalene Smith, Fresno, California, and Ruby Stoops, Sylmar, California. |
