Text | Jake Day, whose home was some 15 miles southwest of Washburn, Mo., passed away April 6, 1939. He was born Mar. 21, 1881 and passed away April 6, 1939, at the age of 58 years and 16 days. He had been in poor health for two or three years but his fatal illness was of short duration.
He was united in marriage to Alma Banks Jan. 16, 1905 and to this union four children; Pearl Shipley, Ruby Sanders, Maxine Day and Opal Day were born. Opal passed away July 8, 1911. Besides the three children he is survived by his widow, one grand-daughter Phyllis Gene Shipley, four sisters, two brothers and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Dent Cemetery Saturday afternoon, April 8 by Chas. Vanzandt and burial made in the Dent Cemetery with the Horine-Culver Funeral Home service in charge. |
