Obit For Clyde Davis
Headline MONETT MAN CRUSHED AS BINDER FALLS, DIES
Text Monett Mo., July 2—Clyde Davis 40 years old, was killed instantly yesterday when a binder on which he was making repairs fell on his neck and shoulder, crushing him and breaking his neck.

Davis had crawled beneath the machine to make repairs and as he pulled out a rod, the binder was unbalanced and fell. Two young sons, Doyle and Arthur were on the scene at the time and summoned help, but the man was dead when help arrived.

He is survived by his wife, and five children, Oleta, Lucile, Edna, Mac, Doyle and Arthur, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Davis; three brothers, Sanford, Winford and Edwin, and a sister, Mrs. Marvin Frazier, all living near Monett.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Macedonia Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. O. T. Allred, the Rev. Calvin Henderson and the Rev. Ollie Ennes.

Research Note: My uncle Charles Eckman, pointed out to me an obit you submitted to ancestry.com [and thanks for taking the time to do so!], but there are some errors which were likely in the original obit in the Wheaton paper where you got the data for the submission. The obit is for my grandfather Clyde Davis.

1) In the second paragraph one of the two young sons on the scene at the time of the accident is incorrectly named as ARTHUR. That should be AUSTIN, who was my father.

2) Also, one of the survivors is listed as Arthur {Davis}, but that should be AUSTIN as well. 3) Also in the survivor list: EDNA, MAC should be corrected to one person, EDNA MAE [There was no Mac in the family at all].

FYI, not listed by name in the obit [only referred to as survived by his wife], was Clyde's wife and my grandmother, JULIA.
If you can correct this information it might prove helpful to anyone who is researching our family tree. Thanks!
