| Text | Amber Davis, age 99, of Monett, died at 8 a.m. yesterday, January 4, at her home.
Mrs. Davis was born September 7, 1905, in Monett, the daughter of John Carlton and Florence (Underwood) Stow. She was a lifelong Monett resident. She retired in 1967 as a clerk for the J. C. Penney store in Monett. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women's Ruth Circle in Monett. She married Oren John Davis on May 26, 1924, in Verona, and he preceded her in death April 7, 1997. Survivors include one daughter, of Monett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Robbie Davis; and one daughter, Jolene Davis. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 7, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. Clif Crockett officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. |
