Mrs. Rhoda J. Davidson was born Feb. 4, 1833, in Louis County, Tennessee, making her at her death aged 76 years, 4 months and 18 days. In 1851 she was married to William J. Davidson and in 1854 they moved from Tennessee to this county and settled the old Wm. Boucher farm 1 3/4 miles north of Exeter. Since that date she has lived in that vicinity. Her husband died in 1888 and since his death Mrs. Davidson has made her home with her son James T. Davidson on Shoal creek.
Mrs. Davidson was the mother of 10 children, seven survive her, three sons and four daughters; J. W. of Texas, J.M of Cassville and J. T. of Shoal creek, Mrs Sarah Powell of this county, Mrs. Susan Beshears, Mrs. Margaret Wilkerson and Mrs. Gusta Eden all of Texas. For years Mrs. Davidson had been a member of the Presbyterian church and had lived a consecrated and exemplary life. She leaves for her children a life-long record of noble deeds and kindly service. Interment was made at the Vineyard cemetery Wednesday at 11 o'clock after funeral services conducted by Rev. E. W. Love. |
