Text | Harold Lavon Davidson, son of the late L. E. and Naomi (Tucker) Davidson, was born in Rocky Comfort, Missouri on July 9, 1918, and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2002, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, Missouri, at 83 years of age.
Harold attended Drury College following high school, and began working in the savings and loan and accounting profession. While there, he met Lura Elwanda Smith, and they were united in marriage on July 12, 1941. Four children were born to this union. Lavon served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Following his discharge, he again began work in savings and loan businesses. The family moved to Mountain. Grove in 1953. He later opened the Davidson Insurance Agency, and operated that business until his retirement. He was saved and baptized at an early age, and most recently was a deacon in the New Life Baptist Church. Both Lavon and Elwanda enjoyed family and their wonderful friends. When they weren’t traveling, they could be found golfing, fishing, or playing games with their friends. Elwanda preceded him in death April 9, 1994. He was also preceded by one sister, Willadean Davidson; and by a great-grandson, Joel Lavon Ortwerth. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands; two sons and their wives, one brother; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Research Note: Unknown Cemetery July 9, 1918 - Mar. 9, 2002 |
