Obit For George L. Dabbs

Text George L. Dabbs was born in Newton County, Missouri May 15, 1886 and departed this life April 14, 1929. Age 72 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He was united in marriage to Anna A. Wallis in 1876. To this union nine children were born, five dying in infancy. The four surviving are: Mrs. Flores Thomas, Mrs. Ada Evans and Loren and Dave Dabbs. He also leaves nine grand children, three brothers and three sisters, besides a host of friends to mourn his departure.

Funeral services were held at the church at Pepsin, Mo., after which the body was laid to rest in the Power's Cemetery in the same community.
Research Note: Don said that the dates of his birth are as he copied them from the journal, however if he was 72 years old then the birth date would have to be 1857 and the date he married was 1876, so he would have been 19 years old when married so the birth date must be 1857 rather than 1886. If the age of 72 yrs, 10 months and 29 days is added to 1857, everything adds up to the death date of April 14, 1929.
