David Cummins of Fairview died suddenly in the Marrs Garage at Fairview last Wednesday while he was changing a tire on his car. He was brought to the J. H. White undertaking parlor and coroner Dutman of Granby was called. After he examined the body and witnesses testified as to his death he decided no inquest was necessary. David Austin Cummings was born in Bradley County, Ark., on Sept. 1, 1867 and departed this life on June 19, 1929 at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 18 days. In 1883 he came with his parents to this state and two years later moved to Texas where he attained success in the cattle business. In the year of 1896 he was attracted to the gold fields of the Klondike where his endeavors was liberally rewarded. On his return to this country he cast his lot with the people of Fairview. He was united in marriage to Miss Maude Bassett, Oct. 21, 1915. He is survived by his wife, brothers, sisters and friends who mourn his departure. Funeral services were conducted at the home of G. C. Nichols and interment made in the Dice Cemetery under direction of J. H. White Undertaking Co. |
