Obit For Samuel M. Cullers
Headline SAMUEL M. CULLERS PASSES AWAY
Text Samuel M. Cullers, highly respected citizen of McDonald County, was born in Grundy County, Missouri Dec. 9, 1857, and died March 11, 1929 at his home south of Rocky Comfort at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 2 days.

In his young boyhood his parents moved with him to Illinois. Later they moved to Texas and lived there for a time. When he was 18 years of age they moved to a farm southwest of Rocky Comfort. Here and in this region Mr. Cullers spent the remainder of his life.

In 1880 he was united in marriage to Mary Caroline Plumlee. To this union were born ?? children, all of whom survive except Curtis, who died the previous October. He is also survived by a brother, Dr. D. E. Cullers of Neosho and two sisters, Mrs. I. O. Plumlee, Rocky Comfort and Mrs. Belle Lentz of Grove, Oklahoma.

For a number of years, Mr. Cullers was a teacher in McDonald and adjoining counties. He was one of the first rural mail carriers in McDonald County. For the last four years he was engaged in the mercantile business southwest of Rocky Comfort.

Rev. Erickson of near Monett conducted the funeral services at the Rocky Comfort Baptist Church Friday, March 15. The pallbearers were the sons and sons-in-laws. Burial was made in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Undertaking.
