Obit For Bertha Laura (Cooper) Cox

Text Bertha Laura Cox, 87, of Monett, died at 9:25 a.m. yesterday, August 27, at Monett Health Care Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Cox was born May 31, 1913, in Leedy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph David and Laura B. (Ward) Cooper. She was retired from Monett Manufacturing and was a Baptist.

She married R. G. Cox on June 10, 1932, in Monett, and he preceded her in death August 9, 1978.

Survivors include two sons, both of Monett; one daughter, of Monett; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 31, at Monett IOOF Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Stanford officiating under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quality Hospice of Cassville.
