Text | Ted Richard Cowart, 67, of Shell Knob, died at 5:30 a.m. yesterday, May 5, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas, following a brief illness Mr. Cowart was born December 15, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Ted and Pauline Smith Cowart. He was an Army veteran, attended Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas, and worked as a physical security supervisor for Allied Signal Corporation in Kansas City until retiring in 1985. He moved to Shell Knob in 1987 and was a member of Central Community United Methodist Church. He married Anita Gulledge on September 27, 1986, in Olathe, Kansas, and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, James Cowart of Merriam, Kansas; one daughter, Beth Goulden of Independence; one step-son, Ron Fuller of Olathe, Kansas; and two grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Williamson Chapel in Shell Knob with Rev. Judith Breiner officiating. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. Memorials may be made to the church building fund.
