Text | Estella F. "Granny" Cooper, 90, of Wheaton, died at 6:40 p.m. April 29 at Medicalodge in Neosho. Mrs. Cooper was born November 21, 1910, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Ann (Peters) Cooper. She owned and operated the Wheaton Cafe for many years and also worked as a cook for the Wheaton school and Camp Soaringhawk, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Ridgley. She married Albert Cooper on April 12, 1929, and he preceded her in death October 25, 1967. Survivors include one son, of Wheaton; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, May 2, at the United Methodist Church in Wheaton with Rev. Roger McKee officiating. Burial will be in Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton under the direction of Wheaton Funeral Home. |
