Obit For Kenneth "Ken" William Coatney

Kenneth "Ken" William Coatney, age 66, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 12, 1940, in Eagle Rock, and was a son of William and Effie (Edwards) Coatney. On Nov. 12, 1981, he was united in marriage to Becky Hopkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ova Hilburn, Vada Coatney and Viola Coatney and one brother, Dennis Coatney.

He received his education in Cassville and then served in the United States Navy. For nine years he was employed for Cessna in Wichita, Kan. Most of his life was spent in car sales, retiring as sales manager after 35 years in that business. He had been nationally recognized as sales person by G. M., Ford and Chrysler. He was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church and the bowling league.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jerry Yarnall and Rev. Paul Yarnall conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.

He was a Navy veteran. He was employed at Cessna in Wichita, Kansas, and was retired as a car salesman after 35 years. He was a member of Roaring River Baptist Church and a bowling league.

He married Becky Hopkins on November 12, 1981.

Survivors include two sons of Elk City, Kansas and of Longton, Kansas, one daughter of Elk City, Kansas; one brother of Cassville; four sisters of Cassville of Exeter and of Eagle Rock; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, August 7, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville with Rev. Jerry Yarnall and Rev. Paul Yarnall officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, August 6, at the funeral home.
