Text | Connie Sue Clayton, age 65, of Pierce City, MO, died on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Cox-Monett in Monett, MO. She was born in Washburn, MO on February 11, 1943, and was the daughter of Burness “Cap” and Mary (Dishshon) Day. Mrs. Clayton was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Clayton, her husband, and children were known as the Clayton Family Singers for many years. Mrs. Clayton was a partner in the Studio Beauty Salon for 10 years. Later, she bought what is known as "The Clayton Trailor Park" north of Pierce City and managed it for eighteen years.
Mrs. Clayton is survived by her husband Cecil Lee Clayton; two daughters, Cecilia Fay Felton of Pierce City, MO and Jena Rosemary Clayton of Pierce City, MO; three sons, Darren Anthony Clayton of Pierce City, MO, Steven Bryan Clayton of Purdy, MO and Jonathan Lee Clayton of Pierce City, MO; three sisters, Margaret Ann Hollenbeck of Barnsdall, OK, Carolyn Baker of Hannibal, MO and Sharon Kay Kaufman of Manassas, VA; three brothers, Darrell Day of San Antonio, TX, Donald Day of Corinth, MS and Carroll Day of Tracy, MO. She also has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronald, Rex, and Bobby. Arrangements are being handled by Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO. |
