Headline | Had Been In Failing Health For a Number of Years |
Text | W. S. Clack died at the family residence, 319 South Washington street yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
The deceased has been in poor health for a number of years, but his condition was not critical until yesterday when a hemorrhage of the brain occurred, which resulted in his sudden demise. The deceased was born in Jackson County, Nov. 15, 1844. He was married to Miss Relda Baber at Richmond, in 1866; they moved to Vernon County in 1867 and came to Nevada to reside in 1874. Mr. Clack was for many years a prominent merchant here, but his eye sight failed some years ago and he was compelled to give up active business life. From that time his health steadily failed, until the last few years he has been an invalid, hardly able to leave his room. He bore his sufferings with characteristic patience, but welcomed death as a release from his ills. He is survived by his widow and four children. Mrs. Grahame of Denver, Col., Jas M. Miss Anna Clack and John, all of whom reside here. The deceased was a man of fine character, fair and honorable in every business dealing; staunch and loyal in his friendships and had great tolerance for all, no matter how much they differed from him. He was a member of the Christian church and lived carefully up to its standards, and in every other relation of life the same high standards prevailed. The funeral service will he held tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock by Rev. Lav. Marshall and interment thence will be at Deepwood. Research Notes: died 7 Sept 1913; parents Benoni & Mary Clack |
