| Text | Charles R. Chumbley, 71, of Cassville, died Friday, July 23 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
Mr. Chumbley was born September 24, 1927 in Monett, the son of Vernon D. and Grace Richardson Chumbley. His family moved to Cassville when he was two years old. He served in the U.S. Army, and resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years before returning to Cassville to make his home. He was employed as a salesman, dealing in real estate and selling boats. He was a member of the Cassville First Baptist Church, American Legion Post 118, and the Cassville Lions Club. Survivors include his mother, one son, one daughter, two sisters, and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25 in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville, with Rev. John Duncan officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cassville First Baptist Church. |
