Text | Ellis A. "Buck" Carter, 79, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Roaring River, died July 31 at his home.
Mr. Carter was born April 11, 1926, at Roaring River, the son of James and Artie (Cordell) Carter. He was a two-year Navy veteran. He worked as a refrigeration engineer for Southwest Public Service in Bonner Springs, Kansas, for over 27 years, retiring in March of 1993.
He married Margie Sayree on June 21, 1968, DeSoto, Kansas.
Additional survivors include one daughter, six sons, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Crawford and Edith Ball; and four brothers, Levi, Virgil, Spurgeon, and Benny Carter. Graveside services with military honors will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, August 4, at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville with Varl Ball and Tony Ball, pastors, officiating under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. |
