Text | Charles Ray Cargile, 67, a lifelong resident of Washburn community died at his home near Washburn early Friday morning. Born on July 13, 1890 at Washburn, he had been engaged in he mercantile business there except for a few years that he was employed by the Frisco railroad in Kansas City. In July 1948, he was united in marriage to Ruth Bothne of Washburn and they made their home on the farm northwest of Washburn where he passed away. Surviving in addition to his wife are two brothers, Clint Cargile of Susanville, Calif., and Floy Cargile of Washburn; one sister, Mrs. Cora Williams of Washburn. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Williamson Chapel In The Valley with the Rev. Charley Vanzandt officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Bob Mitchell, accompanied by Mrs. Max Cooper, Pallbearers were Earl Cargile, Ira Jones, Frank Cargile, LeRoy Vanzandt, Loren Rose, Wayne Vanzandt, Sonny Faulstein, and Matt Brewer. Interment was in the family lot of the Washburn Prairie Cemetery.
