Text | Monday Sept 18, 1911, at 2:30 p.m. the death Angel entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Palmer in Granby and claimed for its victim the latter's grandmother, Mrs. Eliza Cantrell. She was 70 years, 9 months, and 20? days old; was survived by four children Abe of Purdy, Dave, and Henry of Alton and Needmore, Okla., and Mrs. J. A. Longely of Cassville. All were present when she died and brother T. L. Barnes of Seligman and a number of grandchildren. Her husband died about 20 years ago and was buried near Southwest City, MO. She was a member of the Baptist church was a kind and loving mother and loved by all who knew her. Her many friends will be grieved to hear of her death. She was laid to rest in the Granby Cemetery, Tuesday evening. Research Note: Eliza was the daughter of Thomas Henry and his wife Matilda Ann (Deweese) Barnes. |
