Text | Carmon Lee Cameron, 87, Carthage, died at 7:58 am Thursday (March 7, 1996) at a local nursing home after a short illness. Mr. Cameron was born Oct 30, 1908, at Butterfield. He had lived in Carthage for five years, moving from St. Louis. He was a teacher at Southwest High School, St Louis, retiring in 1977. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a yeoman first class, and he received a Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Medal. Survivors include two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 10 am Monday at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage. The Rev. Ray Crews will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. |
