| Text | Melvin daughter of Doc and Julia Skelton was born near Roaring River, Mar 23, 1868 passed away at her home in Cassville Sept. 19, 1955 at the age of 87 years, 4 mo., 26 das.
She was married to Samuel M. Callaway to this union 2 sons were born, one son Charles passed seven years ago. She lived all her life in Barry County and she and her husband had been married 63 years when he passed away 5 years ago. She was converted at an early age and has been a member of the Roaring River Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She is survived by one son James Callaway of Englewood, California and N.H. Pruitt of Kansas City whom she raised as a son, 6 grandchildren, 9 G. Grandchildren, and 2 G.G. Grandchildren. 3 brothers Henry Skelton, Mans, Mo., Charles Skelton, Primrose, Neb. Elmer Skelton, Waverly, Ill. 4 sisters Mrs. E. M. Bare Eureka Springs, Ark. Mrs. Zona Curry, Eagle Rock, Mrs. Dora Curry, Morrell, Nebr., Mrs Alva Striker, Blue Rapids, Kans., many other relatives and host of friends.
