| Text | Died, at his home near Leann, June 28, Robert Burnett, age 48 years, 6 months, and 16 days. He was born Dec 22, 1848, in Roanoke County, VA. Moved with his parents when a young man, living here until his death.
In January, 1888, he married Nina Jane Hall. Mr. Burnett was a member of the Baptist Church for twenty-two years, living a devoted Christian, and dying in the hope of an eternal life. He bore his sufferings with patience, leaving the evidence of having his life's work completed when the Master Called for him. He leaves a wife and four small children, two sisters and one brother to mourn his death. He will be missed among his many friends and neighbors. He commend the bereaved family to be care of him and who has promised to be a husband to the widow, and father to the orphans. The remains were laid to rest in the Jenkins Cemetery, June 29. Services were conducted by Mrs. M. A. Hutchens of McDowell. |
