Text | Phillip D. Burleson, 40, of Shell Knob, Mo., died March 4, 2004. He was born Nov. 3, 1963, in Chicago Heights, Ill He was married on Dec. 12, 1990. He attended grade school in Chicago, Ill., and graduated from high school in Union Grove, Wis. He received as bachelor's degree from Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dallas. He was a telecommunications engineer in Dallas until he moved to Shell Knob in August 2001 where he continued his telecommunications career.
In June 2002, he and his wife started Daylight Donuts. He was an Eagle Scout, an Army veteran of Desert Storm and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Central Community United Methodist Church, a life member of VFW and was involved with Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents; two daughters; two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Central Community United Methodist Church in Shell Knob, under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. The Rev. David Collum will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary, c/o the funeral home. |
