Esther Burke, the 2 year old daughter of Dock Burke, died at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Sallie Burke, Monday, a. m. of stomach trouble. Her body will be buried Tuesday at the Washburn Prairie Cemetery by the side of her sister and mother who died a few months ago.
Research Note: In 1910 in Barry Co., MO, Washburn, in household #45 there was listed as head of household, Sarah A. Burke, age 62, was listed as a widow, born in TN, and reported her father born in TN and her mother born in KY. Living in the household were Emma L., age 26, born in MO, and Henry C., age 23, born in MO. They reported their father born in as having been born in Wisconsin. Sarah had given birth to 3 children and had 2 living children. In 1900 Sallie reported her father as born in TN and her mother born in VA. In 1880 Jake Burkey [Burke] and his wife Sarah were living next door to her mother Emaline, and her sister Eliza and husband Thomas Weathers. |
