| Headline | Rites For John Burg To Be At Purdy Friday |
| Text | Monett, Mo., March 6 - John Benjamin Burg, 77 years old, a retired railroad contractor who died early yesterday morning at his home. He was born in Sweden and came to this country when a small boy. He had lived in this community 44 years. Mrs. Burg died in 1941. Surviving are a son, Otis Burg of San Diego, Calif., and six daughters, Mrs. Clarence Horine, Mrs. Olie Stringer and Mrs. George Davidson of Monett, Mrs. T. W. Holtzclaw of Diamond, and Miss Stella Burg and Miss Mary Jane Burg, at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Purdy, with the Rev. Fred Schmidke, pastor of the Methodist church in Monett, and the Rev. Sherman Erickson, in charge. Burial will be in the Purdy cemetery under the direction of the Blakenship funeral home. |
