Text | Buntin-Edna Ann Minnis was born September 30, 1886 at Bogard, Mo., and departed this life March 5, 1936, being 49 years, five months and five days of age. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Minnis, who preceded her in death. She was married to A. A. Buntin at the age of 23. To this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters. Two boys have preceded her in death, namely: Billie Jean and Clyde Estis. Those surviving are Mrs. Curtis Hayworth, Mrs. Carl Brown, Mrs. Daniel Henderson, all of this vicinity, and Junior at home. She leaves besides her children, her companion, four sisters, two brothers, five grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She accepted Christ at the age of 14, and lived a devoted Christian life to the end. At the time of her death she was a member of the Merl's Chapel church. Of late it seems that the Lord saw fit to take from this family unusually often. Clyde having passed away the 12th of February and Sister Buntin's mother Feb. 25th. But we are reminded of the Scripture, "As the heavens are high above the earth, so are my ways above your ways, saith the Lord." We find comfort in knowing what the heavenly Father does is best; so we bow in humble submission to His will. Sister Buntin will be sadly missed, not only in the home, but in the church and community. She was always found at her post of duty in the church work, and was a grand example of motherhood in the home. Funeral service was conducted in the Merl's Chapel Free Will Baptist church by Elder Winford Davis in the presence of a large crowd of neighbors and friends. |
